Gigabyte apologizes to Asustek
The fallout between Gigabyte and Asustek is beginning to settle, after Gigabyte has stated they will issue a public apology for “defamatory” comments. The issue started a while back when Gigabyte began circulating a document inside their own company that criticized Asustek's build quality, playing up comparable technologies they used themselves. Had the document stayed within Gigabyte's doors, the drama between them would likely never have surfaced.
Regardless, Gigabyte has stated they will issue a public apology to appease Asustek, still asserting that they do stand behind the “intent” of the document if not its means. Asustek has been threatening Gigabyte with legal action over this, which is a long shot from where they were a little less than two years ago when they were considering a merger.
