Tablet PC's launch
Anyone in for some Tablet PC action? I remember these devices were first meant to be released early last year, some of them even running Linux... apparently now Microsoft has caught up and is putting down the cash, so now most major manufacturers are pushing the technology as well.
Now, instead of being marketed as PDA-Notebook hybrids (my first thoughts on the machine), they are coming as Notebook variants, selling for an average price of $2000!
Here's some coverage @ CNet:
Executives representing more than 20 companies manufacturing devices using the software joined Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates here for the launch. Acer, Fujitsu, Hewlett-Packard and Toshiba are among the companies making the new tablet PCs, which are similar to notebook PCs. Most of the devices allow the input of data with a stylus in addition to or instead of a keyboard.
Would you be willing to pay for a Tablet PC now?
