After Hasbro brought legal threats against Facebook and took them to court, the social networking site pulled a safety move by preventing Scrabulous from being used in North America. Only two days later the application is live again, this time using new tactics to dodge infringement claims that Hasbro has made.

Launched under a new name, "Wordscraper" has had a few changes to the game mechanics that Facebook presumes will let them avoid what Hasbro claims were the big legal issues. For instance, square tiles have been replaced by circles. Whether or not this is enough to dismiss the claim, it seems unlikely that Hasbro will drop the suit just like that. In the positive side, the thousands of users that reportedly play Scrabulous on a regular basis under the Facebook platform can get on it again for now.
