Logitech announces new clip-on notebook mouse

Logitech has made some innovative peripherals over the years, and just recently it has unveiled their latest addition which the company hopes will be the next revolution in mice docking stations. Dubbed the Logitech V550 Nano, this mouse features the usual 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, a precision laser, dual-mode scroll wheel, and Logitech’s plug-and-forget USB receiver.

What makes this product unique, however, is its Clip-and-Go dock. This dock is a peg with an adhesive back that sticks to your notebook’s exterior and enables you to carry the PC around with the V550 docked onto it thanks to a hole on the underside of the mouse. The V550 Nano automatically turns off when it's docked or when the receiver is stored inside the mouse.

Not exactly a groundbreaking feature but it could prove useful nonetheless – though it may not play nice with a notebook sleeve. The V550 Nano will be available later this month in two colors (grey with silver accents and silver with cool-blue accents) and should be priced a bit lower than its predecessor, the VX Nano, at about $60.
