Apple to update its iPod line next week?
Rumors that Apple is set to unveil new versions of its popular iPod players next week gained a bit more credence today, with the company confirming that a much-speculated-about press conference will take place on September 9. The invite sent out to various media outfits features the iconic iPod silhouette along with the tagline “Let’s Rock.”
So what exactly is Apple announcing? As always, any speculation before the event is just that, but Apple is widely expected to announce a higher-capacity iPod nano with a bigger screen. Other candidates are a revamped iPod Touch with a cheaper price tag or that rumored yearly subscription service for iTunes.
Apple isn’t saying much, but the company has held events each September for the past four years to introduce new iPods, so a revamp of its entire line of players ahead of the busy holiday season makes sense. We’ll know for sure in just a week.
