AMD & Fujitsu may join forces

One of AMD's key announcements during Comdex was making partnerships stronger, especially those outside of PC processors, look at this bit of information from [URL=http://digitimes.com/NewsShow/Article.asp?datePublish=2002/11/25&pages=PR&seq=201]Digitimes[/URL]:

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Fujitsu are in talks to consolidate their flash businesses into a new company that could rival global leader Intel, reported The Asahi Shimbun, quoting sources.

The two companies are expected to announce an agreement by year-end, and a new company could be set up as soon as the next Japanese fiscal year (beginning April), said the report.
