Samsung X Series to carry Intel CULV chips

Samsung has refreshed its ultra-portable lineup with its new X Series notebooks. Comprised of the X120 (11.6"), X420 (14"), and X520 (14.6"), the X Series laptops are less than one inch thick and weigh from three to four and a half pounds.

Unlike some competing offers, Samsung's X Series will house Intel CULV CPUs. The X120 will reportedly feature a 1.3GHz Pentium SU4100, Intel GMA 4500 graphics, 2GB of RAM, and a 250GB HDD. Unfortunately, the X420 and X520's hardware have yet to be entirely detailed, but given the larger display and chassis, a jump in specs (and price) is naturally expected.

Samsung's X Series is expected to ship this month with prices ranging from €699 ($999) to €899 ($1,285). According to Electronista, all three X Series models are only listed for a European launch -- but they suspect one or more will make it across the pond.
