Microsoft and LG have signed a strategic partnership that will promote 3D gaming on the Xbox 360. The deal is undoubtedly inspired in part by Sony's push to deliver 3D games and other entertainment. The company recently released a firmware update for the PlayStation 3 in preparation for 3D media, and games supporting the technology are expected to arrive as early as next month - not to mention Sony's upcoming 3D Bravia HDTVs.

Microsoft's arrangement with LG will see Xbox 360s and games sold alongside existing LG 3D TVs in consumer bundles. The first of such offerings will combine the Xbox 360 and LX5900 3DTV. Pocket Lint reports that the special packages will initially be limited to Korea, LG's home, but they should eventually spread to other regions as the demand rises for 3D-ready goods. More details should be available as we approach E3 which runs from June 15 to June 17.
