Centrino notebooks to capture 42% of global market

With demand boosted by the establishment of hot spots, Centrino notebooks are expected to account for 42% of global notebook shipments in 2003, Jonathan Luo, manager of the Asia-Pacific Solution Group (APSG) at Intel Taiwan, quoted a survey released by International Data Corporation (IDC) as saying.

On a related note, Dr. Barrett, Intel's CEO, has told an analyst conference today that Europe and Asia are beginning to spend on IT again, although the US is still slow to realise it's time to upgrade, he believes this marks the end of the CPU recession.
