Benchmarks: Company of Heroes

The GeForce GTX 200 series graphics cards appear to have a significant performance advantage in Company of Heroes, at least in the DirectX 10 mode.

At 1920x1200 the GeForce GTX 260 was 39% faster than the Radeon HD 4870, while the GeForce GTX 280 was a whopping 68% faster.

The Radeon HD 4850 was 10% slower than the Radeon HD 4870 at 1920x1200. All of these results were recorded with AA/AF setting disabled, so let's see what happens when we force them on...

Enabling 4xAA/16xAF settings has almost no impact on the performance of the Radeon HD 4000 graphics cards (meaning performance did not degrade greatly).

This allowed the Radeon HD 4870 to gain some ground on the GeForce GTX 260, though still remaining 21% slower at 1920x1200. The GeForce GTX 280 remained dominant with a 74% lead over the Radeon HD 4870.

Switching to even higher 8xAA/16xAF settings did very little to change the results and the performance trends remained much the same.

The Radeon HD 4850 was just 5fps slower than the Radeon HD 4870, while this graphics card was 13fps slower than the GeForce GTX 260. The GeForce GTX 280 lost the most performance here in absolute terms, though it still cranked out an impressive 65fps on average.
