Is there a special kind of ram for each kind of computer? Like for videocards there is PCI-E, PCI and AGP.. I want to upgrade ram to 1gig from 512mb and want to get the right kind and not blow up my computer =P

The best way is to look in your mobo manual or on your mobo manufacturers website for supported brands/types/speeds of ram.
Never mix brands/sizes/speed of ram as this can cause problems.
Yeah, my friend told me he got a RAM card without actualy checking what kind / style his computer needed and his computer basicly caught on fire when it over heated to 1000 degrees =P

Well, looks like he should've checked :hotbounce: A while back, I tried to use sdram in a ddr slot, though it wouldn't fit (I was an extreme noob then).

I usually go to www.crucial.com and use their database to find out what ram a pc needs, wouldn't buy if from them tho, way too pricey!!!!
