802.11n; overview & status
Todate (2/2008) the 802.11n has yet to become an adopted IEEE Standard.
Yes you can find products on the shelves which purport to be -N, but you and the vendor are taking the gamble that these products can and will be updated appropriately. There's a reasonable Wiki on 802.11n with a timeline of the project as well as a link to the CSIRO controversy The IEEE Status is online here and the progress report here. |
