100$ Budget build

Whats the exact use for this system. IMHO the system looks too dated to operate on any workload in this day and age. I'd probably hold and save the budget on a better system down the line.

The 6600 and 8400 GT are extremely dated.

Go for a GT 440, 430, or at least a 330. They are old enough to be compatible with your machine. Which require about the same amount of power and at least 5x faster. The 440 would be 8x faster than the 6600. A GT 420 is even 4x faster than the 6600.

Take a look for yourself with this comparison.

On the CPU, you need to know if your motherboard will support 800 MHz system buss. If not you will be better off getting the P4 that runs at 533 MHz.

Before advising on what you 'can' buy, please describe what programs you want to run. What may be a great upgrade for running Wordpad may not be any good for running even an older graphics oriented game.

That will defeat intels past Pentium 4 on the LGA775 socket route.
Too be honest with you, you are better off not trying to help a dead horse which is emachines.
If the I/O shield on the back can be punch out, replace the mobo, ram and cpu with something more recent.
There are other guys here who will help rebuild it if you will listen to them.

Ok so all I want to do is get steam and play beamng drive or just cause 3 or car mechanic 2018 and maybe run blender.
I have a custom gaming computer and it is at my moms.
So the reason I was thinking about this is to have some pc games at my grandmas were I live.

From Steam: JUST CAUSE 3 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  • MINIMUM:
    • OS: Vista SP2 / Windows 7.1 SP1 / Windows 8.1 (64-bit Operating System Required)
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500k, 3.3GHz / AMD Phenom II X6 1075T 3GHz
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 (2GB) / AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2GB)
    • Storage: 54 GB available space
So I compared your CPU to the minimum and found it just won't make the grade.
