So in my Science class my teacher was bringing out all these old computers from the backroom the the school could catalog them. My friend and went through them and found about 10 Macintosh Plus'. We tried to boot them up and all why got was a white screen with a a black flashing floppy disk with a question mark on it. We tried plugging a base unit into and putting in multiple floppy disks. Does anyone have any ideas? Ive never actually used one before and I don't know anything about them. Does anyone know what parts i need for or ANYTHING that can help me boot it up.

Thanks

Likely doesn't have an OS installed, or at least not a working installation. You'll need Double Density floppy disks with the OS installation on them (should be somewhere around 4 floppys). System 6 is probably what will work best on it.

You could try resetting the PRAM (not sure if you can even do that on a Plus but it won't hurt to try) by booting with command, option, P and R pushed down. If that doesn't work, you could try booting with extensions disabled by holding down the shift key. I don't think either of these will work though, the flashing question mark on the floppy disk icon indicates no OS, or a corrupt one.
