3800+ x2 or fx-55

  1. i am a gamer, and i currently have a 3800+ x2 and i have the oppurtunity to change to a fx 55 for free and i am not sure which is better for gaming but i am hoping that someone knows

    For gaming, the FX55 is better for the moment. However, soon more games will take advantage of multiple CPU cores and thus multi-core processors will be better than higher clocked single core CPU.

    I agree the dual cores dont do much for graphics at this time i have a single AMD 4000 and it is still fast for games but my friends dual core CPU works well with windows and multi applications.

    because the most multi tasking i do is music and word at the same time the fx 55 would be better but down the road a bit i would be better off using a dual core when the games can utilize it
