3com 3c920 card working or not?

I have a 3com 3c920 in my dell optiplex gx200, windows 98 os and I can ping so I know I am getting to the router. But when I try to install a driver the driver program tells me that I do not have a lan board? I typed in ipconfig and got ip address: 169.254.84.216 subnet: 255.255.0.0 and the gateway was blank. I am not even sure if I am going about it the right way. But I am guessing that I need to config the 3com card? Does anyone know how I do this? :knock:

Does the card show up in device manager? Go to Dial-up networking and open your connection and set the gateway to your router address.
