8GB ram on Mac Air M1 fine ?

I've been researching small, lightweight laptops and most popular/best ranked one is still mac air m1 w. 8g ram.
is this really enough for running the OS ? The laptop will be used for MS Office/MS Teams/ZOOM/browser type of work. Can those programs run on macOS (via my office365 subscription) ?

It’s fine for that kind of work. Anything heavier, such as content creation, might possibly run into problems — my partner has to use an 8GB M1 iMac for her job, which is exclusively content creation, and has no shortage of problems with Adobe’s suite of apps and Blender.
