Hello and welcome to Techspot.
Your system is infected with a trojan called Downloader.Agent.awf. It replaces legitimate files that are common on most computers with an infected file. Then, it moves the legitimate files to a bak or backup folder.
Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.
If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.
Go and read this thread HERE and follow the instructions exactly. Post the requested log files once done.

Hello Howard,
I was able to get rid of the duplicate bak files and ran Findawf which resulted in clean results. My desktop still still says "Your Privacy is still in danger" and I'm being hit with pop ups, one telling me I have 'win32.trojandownloader.newmedia and being redirected to w.yourprivacyguard.com amoung others. Any help of course greatly appreciated, Thanks
Still getting pop-ups directing me to protect.trustedantivirus.com.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.
Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as Attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.
Also, let me know the results of the Panda Antirootkit scan.
