A majority of Americans have never heard of PS4 Pro or Xbox Scorpio

"gamers aged 13 or older prefer to play on consoles rather than PC"

I call utter BS on this, that's saying on average PC gamers are under the age of 13...

Also imo a gamer is not someone who plays the odd game of candy crush or clash of the titans etc on a mobile phone...

Actually that is a fact, just look at console vs PC game sales in North America. Once you leave North America and go into Asia then PC gaming and console game are more even. I will say PC gaming is clearly gaining on consoles and if you include mobile and app like games then it has over taken console games. But if you look at AAA titles then consoles still lead which is why so many PC games are console ports or made for multi platforms.

Typically launch games suck but better games come along quicker then one to two years.

This has not been the case with the current generation. With PS2/Xbox there were a ton of great year one titles. With PS3/360 there were a few (Resistance: Fall of Man comes to mind), but most of their strong titles started rolling in a little over a year later. PS4/XB1...well, they still don't have very robust libraries and we're a few years in.

Going back to the retail story, this was another trend I noticed: People were buying the PS4s and XB1s primarily for sports titles and CoD, not must-have console exclusives. They wanted Madden, NBA 2Kx, Fifa, etc. The only people who were interested in major platform titles were customers shopping for Nintendo Wiis.

It seems you lack the ability to understand your own hyperbole from actual facts so I will attempt to talk in simpler terms to help you better understand. While I myself am not a console gamer and have little interest in debating the quality of the game listed below the fact that they are all AAA titles launched within a ballpark calendar year of the PS4 launch date (holidays 2013 - Sept 2014) tells me for a fact major publishers were pushing games to the platform. You can not toss your immature hissy fit of being shown up and embarrassed by facts as I am done with this thread and will not read it anymore.

Cool story bro.
I can't tell if you are being facetious or not. Gamed on PC since Commodore 64. Had a desktop ever since. Stuck with the what I got. Take the labels off, couldn't tell one console from another. But wait, I'm not American so I guess this doesn't count

I don't think much of these reports as ps4 pro and Xbox Scorpio are sold in many shops and many different retailers around the world and seriously 13yos are the demographic when it is well known most adult gamers are 25 plus. But I am to be wrong on many occasions so if I am wrong this time I apologize in advance but I'm 60yo and know the Scorpio from the ps4 pro which I have and really enjoy playing on but I always say just play games on whatever you want to.

I am pretty certain, globally PC gaming still exceeds ALL consoles put together.

This always amazes me, things haven't changed. I've been a pc nerd for a few decades and why people waste time arguing pc gaming vs console gaming is beyond me. You can find statistics to back up either side (regarding popularity) as most people have their own favorite system for gaming.

Buy what ya like and stop arguing about it.

"dirtyferret" calling another board member "insecure" just because they have a different opinion then theirs? JUVENILLE.
