A picture of you & where you post from

I have one of those Zalman 7000A-AlCu coolers with the tight circular fins, and 5 cats. If I left my side off for a few hours, that sucker would be choking from the cat hair, and temps would be climbing towards th 50's. Filters on the front, filters on the side. And it's still a problem.

5 cats? i think i would be dying with all that cat hair, and i dont even think im allergic to it, just cant stand animal hair (want an akita real bad but i know im just going to leave it outside 24/7 after it reaches 30lbs - they grow to be about 120). i orginally got the antec case i have now so it can quite up some of the noise from my last case but its not as affective as i thought with the side off. not at all.

Ah, an opportunity to post my favorite picture! A friend from college fired up Photoshop one day and created this masterpiece:

You've got to understand, I'm something of a LotR nut, so I was thrilled when I found that in my e-mail.

And here's a picture of where I post from:

Yep, that's right, I still use a CRT monitor. It's 65 pounds and not very much fun to move around... but hey, it's still working, the picture is nice and sharp, and it holds up my Eclipse light rather nicely, so I'm still holding out on the whole LCD thing.

Nice lighting on that shot, and I agree. The one redeming quality of CRT's is the opportunity to use it as one extra shelf. I use an old one from eMachines myself and will wait for it to die before moving to a flat panel.

this is what i do in my spare time Motorola RAZRV3 custom skins yea thats right i made those

its not there anymore, i was using it for support when i was setting up my new comp, and just to let everyone know its not an e-machine, just the case.

That's a relief, though the case itself has its own set of issues... the power button sticks all the time in my parents' eMachine. Has that happened to you? Their rig looks identical to yours, so I'm guessing the button "quality" would be the same...

ive had no problems with the button, the e machine case just temporary anyways im not sure on what case i want yet,

Think this is my latest picture, complete with beverage, as I am in most photos!

Ha! Ha! Well to me it looks kinda red. Doesnt matter, I got a thing for Scotish girls!! ......maybe just a bad dye job or something! :D .....just kidding, just kidding..... ;)

OK...so you are like into soil remediation or seismological stuff or something? Sorry if I'm being nosy, I just never heard of one of those before. I live about 100 yards from the Inglewood Newport fault in L.A., and being from Missouri, you're up there in New Madrid country right?

My undergraduate degree is in Geology and Geophysics with emphasis in Groundwater and Environmental Geochemistry. So I'd like to get a job with remediation on some level at some time. But no, I'm using that device to get the soil conditions for specific soils under specific conditions and relating that to detectability of buried land mines by a AN/PSS-14 Handheld Standoff Mine Detection System (HSTAMIDS which uses GPR as a detection criteria.

The AN/PSS-14 has undergone a big design change since the pictures in that article. Which now looks like this:

Nope, don't live in New Madrid county. Live in Phelps County, and work for the Center for Environmental Science and Technology at University of Missouri-Rolla. Located halfway between Springfield, MO and St. Louis.

Sounds very interesting. Sadly mine detection is a field that won't be running out of work anytime soon. Kudos to you. A very worthwhile endeavor!

Don't worry - we won't pick on you about it. I'm a Wallace and Gromit fan too!

thanks dude ;p
we decorated my room like that when i was about 8, 6 years later and it's still the same lol.
