acquiring IP address!

I know this is like asking "why is the network down?" but may wireless laptop has been "acquiring IP address" thing going when i first boot up...never happened before, haven't changed anything nor has anyone been on either of my pc's. it doesn't eventually find it...or i can do a "repair" connection and it wil solve the issue...but is there something i'm missing..? ..thanks! appreciate any info! sorry..long day...can't type..."it DOES" eventually acquire the address on it's own...and in the meantime, i can still surf so i am on! ..it just stays on that "searching" for a while at times..so i usually just do a "repair" and fix it!
