I have the uBlock Origin extension on Chrome, on Windows 11. I started receiving the warnings on YouTube a few days ago, and eventually got blocked. I can right-click on any video and it will play in an Incognito tab, or watch YouTube on Firefox, but I can no longer watch many YouTube videos on Chrome. I will give up YouTube before I give up uBlock Origin, but it is not working for all of us.I mean, yeah. If they weren't working on Youtube, why would you keep it? Is anyone actually surprised that people are adblock hopping?
uBlock Origin has done a fine job blocking YT's attempts. I have yet to see any prompt from them about my (selective) blocking of ads.
Use Chrome's dev tools (F12) to clear all local storage for YouTube. This will of course log you out but seems to reset your status. Update uBlock's filter list. Try again (you can log back in.) If still blocked you may have some extensions that are working against you (or YouTube may have temporarily gained ground in the tug-of-war, this is a back-and-forth excecise between them and each adblocker team.)I have the uBlock Origin extension on Chrome, on Windows 11. If you get hit while using uBlock Origin do these simple things to scr*w YT out of showing ads again
1: Close the YT tab
2: open uB's dashboard
3: Click on Filter Lists
4: Click Purge all Caches
5: Click Update All or Update Now when done close the dashboard tab
6: Open YT and ya ads should not be shown along with YT's stupid anti adblock popup

Exactly... Brave browser has been blocking YouTube ads for the 3 plus years I've been using it, on both Windows desktop and Android versions. And another positive thing about the Android version of Brave is that I can play the audio of videos with my phone screen off: Settings > Media > Background play > Enable.I just use Brave browser to view YouTube. No ads in sight and no issues whatsoever so far.
Same here.I mean, yeah. If they weren't working on Youtube, why would you keep it? Is anyone actually surprised that people are adblock hopping?
