ADVANCED WINDOCARE 2 PERSONAL ???lost my start up menu

hi there
today i installed the free version of advanced widowcare 2 personel
it was one of the top 20 downloads from download.com so i thought i would clean my computer.
i did this
and now when i start up my computer none of the icons that used to appear at the bottom right of my screen next to the clock appear.
so i am without anti virus and a firewall when i boot up.so i have to start them up manually
i share the computer with my house mate and when he opens up his loggin there is noting as well
i have tried system restore to no avail
i am not very good with computer so please can you help me

see if advanced windows care has a backup facility, that will restore any files it altered.

if it doesn't then try clicking start > run > and type "msconfig" (without quotes) and click on the startup tab and see what's there
