hey, i have a problem with my comp when i attemp to overclock it.
    I have the X2 5600+, and the ASUS M2N-E m/b, with 4x 1Gb OCZ dual channel DDR2 ram.
trying to overclock from the bios never works, as once windows boots up(usually wont even boot up after you leave bios till you manually restart it), the cpu speed is always back at 2.81GHz.
also using the ASUS tool, allowing overclocking from inside windows doesnt work either, as soon as i attempt the update, either a minute or two later, it resets the clock speed, or the computer will just lock up, and when i restart it, the clock speed will be back to normal.
any ideas as to why this might be happening?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

How much are you trying to increase the speed and do you increase the memory speed at the same time?

not trying to increase memory speed, and i cant even increase the clock by as little as 1 hz (200 is stock, 201 will crash)
however, if i lower the multiplier to 6, i can up the clock speed a whole bunch, with no problems.. any idea whats up?
