Anatomy of a CPU: The Computer Brain

I really wish there was a better interface between the chip and motherboard. Bent pins are real.

I just dealt with this trying to transfer my build into a SFF case. I accidentally bent a few pins on my Ryzen 5 2600. I was able to bend them back and my system works for the most part. Occasionally, my system won't POST with my mobo showing a "DRAM" error so I think some of the pins that communicate with the RAM may have been affected. But yea, bent pins aren't fun.

The train conductor metaphor is pretty lame. A conductor does not pull levers on a train. That is the Engineer's job. Perhaps this could be revised to use a traffic cop, or some other anthropomorphism, but not "conductor," unless it is in the context of an orchestra.
