Anonymous hacks security company HBGary for working with FBI

HBGary Federal, a security company that is helping the FBI track down the hacker group Anonymous, has become a target itself. The group hacked into HBGary's networks and posted archives of some 50,000 e-mails between company executives. The group also hacked the firm's website, publishing an explanation as to why the website was targeted.

Last month, authorities in the US and the UK moved against a number of suspected Anonymous members. On the weekend, The Financial Times ran a story quoting Aaron Barr, HBGary's head of security services, saying he had uncovered the identities of Anonymous' leaders. Barr said he planned to release his findings next week at a security conference in San Francisco.

Having hacked HBGary's website, Anonymous explained that it was releasing Barr's findings on its own because the group was confident the company's conclusions were wrong. As you can see in the above screenshot of the hacked website, the group announced it had no leaders and was quite adamant that the information was nothing new or was simply bogus.

In December 2010, Anonymous took down websites belonging to MasterCard, PayPal, and Visa, because the payment processors declined to transfer money to WikiLeaks. Last month, the group shut down websites belonging to the Tunisian government and stock exchange in support of the uprising that forced the country's dictator, Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali, to flee. Earlier this month, the group hacked Egyptian and Yemen government websites for similar reasons: to show their support for promoting antigovernment protests that have roiled the Arab world.

Some things aren't right here. The first sentence of this article - anon isn't a hacker group. It CAN take on that form, but that's not its role. It ubiquitous. As such is also has no leader.

Also the first writing in the screenshot, states domain has been seized under rule #14. This rule is: "Do not argue with trolls - it means that they win." What?

The Twitter account was hilarious though. :D

Don't mess with anon. It's like a black guy picking a fight at a klan rally. It's just a really stupid idea.

An apt analogy, given the stupidity, ignorance, and hatefulness of most anonymous members.

There's really only one defense left against these guys: buy a dog.

anon people are nothing more than a bunch of little punk criminals with too much time on their hands. Move out of your mother's basement and get a life that involves something responsible.

Hahaha, you are just jelly. Just a whiny little person with little to no reason to live. Please, go follow the rest of the Americans to their slow, amorphously obese deaths. Listen to what the government tells you and don't think anything different, if you do, you may end up on the wrong side of their gun.

An inept conclusion, expected out of someone who fails to do his/her research about this group (Wikipedia article is a good place for starters).

What bs, a bunch of *****s think they did something special and yet they really did not do anything that a bunch of 12 year old on drugs do all the time.
so what they can hack a server, probably is hosted and hbg has nothing to do with it.
now if they wrote the operating system I might be more impressed so they go around playing pissing games with people behind their backs because they too chicken **** to do it in their face

I bet you couldn't do the same as these people did if random guy started stalking you from over the internet. I doubt these people are actually 12 year olds.
