  1. Another problem with "Spyware detection alert"

Hi, i've already search for this kind of problem. I've found people with the same problem in this forum, but i'm not quite sure I will get the same solution since my HJT log might be different. So here goes.

I keep get this red icon on the start menu icon which alert me to scan the computer . The browser said "Spyware detection alert". Well, let just say i have the same problem with this guy

    http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic62467.html

However, I didn't get anything unusuall with all the system. It all works normally. It just that I just can't get rid of it. Everytime I start Windows, it keeps on alerting me. I've tried the preliminary removal instruction, but the problem is persistent.

I attach the HJT and AVG anti spyware log report.

If I can use the solution of other people's problem, please refer me to the page.

I would really appreciate the help

    Thanks

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Go and read the Trojan Pakes and other nasties preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

    Regards Howard

Don`t worry about that, you can skip that part and go on to the rest of the instructions.

Download the Pocket Killbox programme from HERE. Extract it but don`t run it yet.

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial56.html

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Go to add remove programmes in your control panel and uninstall anything to do with(if there).

    Safety Bar

    Close control panel.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 202.81.63.181:8080<Only fix this if you didn`t set this proxy yourself or you don`t know what it is.

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {18D45C9B-483E-6360-A7D4-08C2F06E787F} - (no file)

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {39f25b12-74ff-4079-a51f-1d70f5b08b84} - (no file)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [wwmexhe.dll] C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wwmexhe.dll,mkqeunb

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CTDrive] rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\drvnor.dll,startup

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{B07D7D16-F1F0-4C69-A132-5AF281539790}: NameServer = 202.81.63.177,202.81.63.178<Only fix this if it doesn`t belong to your ISP.

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: wintuh32 - wintuh32.dll (file missing)

Click on the fix checked button.

    Close HJT.

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or directories(if there).

    C:\Program Files\Safety Bar
    D:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\WeatherBug\MiniBugTransporter.dll

Run the killbox.exe file. When it loads type the full path to the file you would like to delete in the field and check the delete file on reboot button. press the Delete File button (looks like a red circle with a white X). It will prompt you to reboot, select no until you have finished inputting the files you want to delete, only then allow it to reboot and hopefully your files will now be deleted. If your computer doesn`t automatically restart, restart it manually.

These are the filepaths you need to enter into killbox.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drvnor.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\wwmexhe.dll

Once your system has rebooted, turn system restore back on and rehide your protected OS files.

Post a fresh HJT log and let me know how your system is running.

Can you please tell me what this is? C:\Program Files\Shollu3\Shollu3.exe Did you deliberately install this yourself?

    Regards Howard :)

    Finally... it's gone.

The Shollu3.exe is an application that my brother installed (this is actually his computer). It's not something bad. It just runs at start up and prompts him to pray at certain time. Nothing harmful.

I really apreciate your help Howard_hopkinso

    Thank you

Hmm... I didn't see about the safety bar.

    Here's the new one.

Your HJT log is now clean.

If you have any further virus/spyware problems, please post in this thread.
