Another startup issue

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum but I've been reading trying to find out whats wrong with my computer and no long. When I start my computer it turns on for about 2 secs then it shuts down then the power button flashes green, the normal color should be blue. I just found out my younger sister pulled her ipod out of the usb ports and now one of them is broken. Could that be the problem I tried disconnect the front usb and the same issue occurs. I'm now lost.

It is possible that something on the motherboard was shorted out and damaged when the iPod was forcibly removed from the now broken USB port. The motherboard may need to be replaced

I was afraid of that. Should I also get another case cause the front usb ports seem to be done and I need that easy access? Which motherboard would be good to replace a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum I have a AMD x2 4600 cpu?

I see this board has DDR2 I believe I'm using DDR would this board be able to accept a lower model?
