I broad-brushed them because of what Apple Inc. failed to condemn (the hedonistic, vain flaunting of wealth by this former exec), and what they did choose to condemn (a cringy misquote of a 1980s film). It's broad-brushing to condemn a company based on the actions a company takes, now? If you were any farther up Tim Cook you'd be coming out of his mouth.

I couldn't care less about Tim Cook. I also don't think my company or any company has any business commenting on my lifestyle, as long as it's not illegal. Is it Apple's responsibility to comment on every employee's choice of car purchases or personal recreational habits? I don't think so. Apple (or any large corporation) is not and should not be the social conscience of the world.

I think I can make up my own mind about an individual without having some corporate marketing hack tell me how and what to think. We don't know hardly anything about this man, but you're ready to throw him and 150K Apple employees under the bus for one, stupid, comment. PS - Tim Cook donates $5M a year to charities. The company may also have some restrictions as to when and how much he could sell. I believe these fall under something called a 10b5-1 plan. Stock is often issued as a RSU, or restricted stock unit. Here's some info specific to Tim Cook:

This is a good thing because it's not like he needed his career to continue. He should have retired over a decade ago. Once money is no longer an issue, the most valuable commodity is time. Anyone who works longer than they have to instead of enjoying life on easy street is patently insane.

At the end of life, most people's biggest regret is not spending more time with their loved ones and it's usually because they worked for far longer than they had to.

I'm referring to those who hoard wealth for the sake of it.
