Apple likely to launch Mac OS X Mavericks in late October

  1. Apple is widely expected to release OS X 10.9 Mavericks at the end of October. Anonymous sources indicate Cupertino will more than likely stick with tradition and launch the software the day after their fourth quarter earnings announcement.

  2. What a pretentious name is Mavericks. Who is Apple trying to impress with their "greater than thou attitude". Apple is asleep at the wheel in my opinion.

    When they made the decision to drop the cat names they should have bailed into the plant kingdom and started using trees/woods. For instance: cedar, oak, chestnut, ash, pine, spruce, and lignum would have all been better names than 'mavericks'.
