Audio drive does not work

i installed windows xp sp2 on my computer but the sound does not work. i tried downloading an audio drive but it would not install. an error would occur and the installation would exit. i have no idea what to do, plz help!

Are you logged in as administrator when trying to install?

What brand is the computer, or is it home built? Integrated sound?

i think some of that information is in my profile. i don't know if the sound is intergrated tho.
