Audio trouble

I got this Satellite Pro 4600 laptop and untill recently I had a perfect sound. I don't know what happened but it isn't working anymore.

The problem is that it doesn't detect any Audio devices.

In the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties --> Hardware. I go to my Intel(r) 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio Controller and choose the Properties option. Than there will pop-up a new screen with several Multimedia devices I got and when I check their properties they all have this status:

Status: Driver is enabled but has not been started.

Anyone knows what to do with this?

Tried updateing/reinstalling the audio drivers for your laptop?

Normally if it is showing it hasnt been started this would be to do with a hardware failure not recognizing the instructions with the driver. If it's a seperate soundcard then you can always take it out and push it back in again, failing that and the driver update I doubt there would be much that can be done.
