After upgrading my PC (Motherboard, CPU, RAM, Graphic card & Power Supply) 15 month ago, I have a bluescreen error occasionally when I restart (reset or Power-On) my computer.

The bluescreen error messages are not similar, but either 0x0000008E or 0x000000E3. I have this problem occasionally and just on restarting, so that when my computer have a healthy botting, I don't meet any problem to next restarting (understood that sometime I have not any problem in next restarting too!).

To now, Some of my error messages were:

1. 0x0000008E (0xC000001D, 0x00010002, 0xF46EB96C, 0x00000000)
2. 0x000000E3 (0x858C8CD0, 0x85F82520, 0x00000000, 0x00000002)
3. 0x000000E3 (0x8603CBA8, 0x85E0FDA8, 0x00000000, 0x00000002)
4. 0x000000E3 (0x855EB4C8, 0x85F967B0, 0x00000000, 0x00000002)
5. 0x0000008E (0x0000001D, 0x00001002, 0xF421996C, 0x00000000)
6. 0x000000E3 (0x85FF99F0, 0x85E81360, 0x00000000, 0x00000002)
7. 0x000000E3 (0x858FAE70, 0x859279E8, 0x00000000, 0x00000002)
8. 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xF5B6D4D0, 0xF7C48FE8, 0xF7C48CE8)

Sometime I must reset my PC 5-6 time at a stretch for a healthy booting, and hardly ever I have not any problem for a week!.

I did many works during these 15 months: Replacing my RAMs with two new one; uninstalling some of my programs; uninstalling my TVCard; puting my modem in other PCI ports; BIOS upgrading and many other efforts, but the problem is immutable. Please help me. What must I do? what is the problem?

Best Regards

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Your problem would appear to be cased by a bug in ATMFD.DLL. This is the Windows NT OpenType/Type 1 Font Driver by Adobe Systems Incorporated.

Look HERE for a possible solution.

I`m sorry my possible solution didn`t work for you.

1 minidump crashes at ATMFD.DLL and has a bugcheck of E3.

1 minidump crashes at win32k.sys. This is the windows Multi-User Win32 Driver. It has a bugcheck of 8E.

I still think this is caused by a font problem.

Would you be prepared to backup your important data and reformat and reinstall? I think this would probably solve your problem.

Regards Howard :)

During the while, my HD was reformated & repartitioned many times, but the problem was not solved. Can be this promlem arised from my SATA port? I have 2 HD, one PATA and one SATA.

Thanks

Do you have the Adobe Type Manager programme installed on your system?

If so try uninstalling it and see if the crashes stop.

You should also check your system for viruses etc.

I don`t think this has anything to do with your sata port.

I have Norton Antivirus and its database is up-to-dated.

Can you temporarily uninstall those adobe programmes?

See if your system becomes stable. If it does, reinstall one programme and test your system. if it`s still stable, reinstall the other programme and retest.

Regards Howard :)

Dear Mr. Howard,
I think my problem should be solved by your kindness. After your suggestion, in first step I unistalled Acrobat Reader 7.0 and I take no Blue Screen error for 13 days (Hurrah!, I Break a record!). In the second step, I Installed Acrobat Reader 6.0 and the problem was backed after 3 resets. Also With Acrobat Reader 5.1, the problem was remained as before. Now, I have installed Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 and I'm not saw any problem during 4 last days. I must thank you very much for your help. You rescue me from a big hell . Thanks, Thanks, Thanks. I pray the problem not be back again.

Do you have any rationale for this problem? When my computer is powered on or reseted, Acrobat Reader is not executed automatically. Why this problem is occured when any version of Acrobat Reader is not managed at all?

Best Regards,

I`m glad your problem is solved.

I`m not sure what causes the Adobe programmes to generate this problem. All I know is it`s got something to do with fonts.

It might be a good idea to contact Adobe and ask them what is the cause of the problem.

Regards Howard :)
