Been Infected by Bad Virus

  1. Well, it finally happened. I guess it was just a matter of time. My system has been infected with what I see as being a "bad" virus. I believe that the virus found its way in through an "Active-X" control download. I have tried all of my security, spyware, and virus control programs in attempts to destroy the virus. Nothing has worked. I have even tried doing a system restore...no luck. This virus is a mix between spyware and adware. I keep getting pop-ups that lead me to this "exittracking.com" site and a blank toolbar with a search field at the top of my internet browser. Does anyone know how do get rid of this damn thing? I don't want to have to wipe out my hard drive. I am going to try a registry cleaner but i highly doubt it will work. Please help if you can. Thanks
