BF2 Problem

Lately, whenever im playing bf2, the game just shuts down and goes back to desktop. Could it be a power supply error, like the graphics card not getting enough power. here are my specs.

Pentium D 2.8ghz
Intel 975XBX2KR mobo
160 GB sata hd
250 GB sata hd
1 GB corsair ddr2 667 Mhz dual - channel
Evga 7600 gt 256 MB
400 Watt Power Supply

Well it certainlly could be a power supply problem.

However, BF2 is known to do this quite frequently.

Here are some common things that been known to cause this problem.

Running a firewall (Turn it off to see if it works)
Not being patched
Any 'warez' running in the background punkbuster will pick these up
It conflicts with some sound drivers as well.

Basically it could be a host of many things. So we need to rule some things out.

A. Can you run other games ok?
B. Has this game ever worked ok in the past?
C. Are you patched?

If you feel drastic,
Delete everything in this section

C:\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles

You will have to retrieve your accounts but that should only take a second and this is sometimes known to fix the issue.

It has worked very well in the past, and it is patched, i reinstalled it and also reinstalled the patch. And that still did not fix it, so i am almost sure its a power issue, so i will replace the power supply with a bigger one once i have the money. Thanks for the help!

I don't think that it would be a power supply problem, because I run bf2142 at minimum specs, and it always works fine for me, I have never had a problem. Try completly re-installing your battlefield if you havent already. Im not sure exactly, if this will fix your problem, but it may.
