Black screen after booting windows

  1. Just this night, it happen the computer suddenly hang and I restarted it, but once I've restarted the my PC, the windows boot but it doesn't reach where I LOG ON, it's just black screen then suddenly my monitor turn off. now I'm just using safe mode with networking..... can anyone help me.. my OS is Windows XP, I've already tried fixmbr and fixboot....... system restore didnt help either.....

    How I fixed was I went to control Panel/system/hardware and when to display, there I found my video card and another vga driver when I disabled the generic vga driver. I rebooted my video Card took over and Black Screen Went away. I hope this help.

    Boot from you operating disk, enter recovery console type chkdsk /r,fixboot,fixmbr and exit
