i was disabling some things in msconfig after running registry mechanic and spybot and now when i turn my comptuer on, the windows login screen has no username to select and thus no password. I have no access to any reinstall/restore discs, and i need everything on the HD. Also, i tried the ctrl-alt-del x2 trick but the password i use to log on says that it is invalid. Please help?

Have you tried booting into safe mode by pressing F8 before Windows begins to load and then selecting safe mode from the menu??

It looks like your only option is to perform a repair with your Windows installation CD.

okay, i have a windows xp pro disc in right now and when i try to repair it asks for the administrator password, i thought the default was blank?

edit: the version i am trying to repair is home edition i think? (it has no suffix just Windows XP)

You will not able to repair one version of XP with a CD for a different one.
You will need your windows XP home CD. There is no other way around it.
