Boot failure enter system disk.

  1. well i am new here and i have a problem when i boot my firends computer up it say disk boot failure enr system disk but it was working just fine yesturdau we did not format it. i was playing cs on it yesturday and today when we powered it up it says that. can anyone help me?

    Your hard drive is probably toast. A low-level format might bring it back to life, but you will loose all data. If the drive is as bad as I think it is, the data is gone anyway

    i took an image of the hd when i got this message to be safe. but now when i put it back in it reads the following...\windows\system32\config\system file is missing or corrupt... what now

    Do you know how to re-write a sys config file? Are you familiar with DOS commands?
