i'v got windows xp professional with a 2.4 ghz intel pentium processor & a matsonic ms9327e+(usb) mother board.for some reason my processor is only runnin at 1.79ghz and my computer takes ages to boot up,

It looks like your CPU is made for 133 Mhz clock and your motherboard has defaulted to 100 Mhz. Start your computer and hit delete to go in to the BIOS settings and change your clock from 100 to 133. Instructions should be in the motherboard MANUAL.
