Do you mean you can't dbl click the link in my post and go?

Are you sure you have full Internet access? You can't update and can't download?

Give more details. But if it takes getting them on a Flash drive do it!

Mike

Here are the logs

EDIT: I did have to use a flash drive, and I didnt try to open IE explorer to double click I just typed the web address straight in. I am able to update Avira and CCleaner, so it seems like its being blocked. Maybe its IE, im not sure

Ok mtbtrigger

yes we do have one more. TDSS trojan

couple more steps.

Try to update the MWBAM now!

We should have killed enouh other that it will now update

If it will not update then run a full scan and post the log

Mike

MWBAM is updated, and SAS is in the process. SHould i run a full scan of both and then post the logs?

These both take a while, so if thats what you want I will do it overnight and then post logs in the morning (so you can sleep too :p)

Thanks for all the help, it is much appreciated and im sure others are getting solid support through this thread as well

YES! Cool!

IF they find anything post logs and and boot to Safe Mode and run them again.

After they run

Run the SDFix once more while in Safe Mode.

Mike

How long now 45 minutes or so each?

Goodnight will check in in morning!

Mike

Currently on campus, but I thought I would post an update.

Both SAS and MBAM found 1 problem each, and when both scans completed when I pressed their respective 'fix' buttons, my computer locked up and forced me to do a hard reset.

Now I am having trouble booting my system to safe mode, and when i boot it normally I cannot open MBAM. I am not able to update again, SAS shows that there is a new update available but when I proceed it just sits at 0% and will not initialize.

Going to try to get to safe mode to run SDfix, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

EDIT: It is still taking my computer over 15 hours to run MBAM (when it actually boots). This seems very odd as all of the other full system scans only take about an hour

Are you able to download combofix from HERE?

Save it on desktop or its own folder, and turn off all real-time monitoring programs before running it. Will check back tomorrow.

I have been downloading most of the files to a flashdrive on my laptop and then transfering them to my desktop, would you recommend that for combofix as well?

If that is possible you can try it. At least getting Combofix to run provides alot more diagnostic information on your system.

I tried using that link, it wouldn't open the page. I downloaded it on a flashdrive and tried to run it, did not work. Seems that all of my applications are having a hard time running. My system will not boot in safe mode, and is now blue screening on normal mode... Not really sure where to go from here

EDIT: the error i get is STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}. Not sure if this means anything, but i can no longer boot in normal mode, cant imagine safe mode will work either.

EDIT2: will not boot in any mode...

Hi mtbtrigger

You need to do a Reair/Overlay install. If you follow the steps it will repair Windows and keep all your programs and data.

Below are 3 links on how to do it read all 3. The key is not to

1. Use the first R recovery console
2.. Use second R to repair an existing Windows installation
3. If it does not present the second R or find an existing Windows installation:ABORT DO NOT CONTINUE

https://www.techspot.com/vb/topic8356.html
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/tips/doug92.mspx
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/operatingsystems/ss/instxprepair1.htm

Once you have properly selected R to repair existing installation then it looks like a normal windows install and will eventually boot back to Windows.

Repairing Windows may help your issues but does not remove Malware so begin our process again as soon as you are up.

Mike

EDIT: wish I could stay with you but it is 02:15AM here headed to bed. Good night will check 1st thing in morning if you can get this done.
