    Hi guys,
I'm in a big trouble here. I have Del Inspiron 1505 laptop. Last few days it was giving me BSOD IRQL_LESS_OR_EQUAL" while shutting down. there were too many applications installed so really wanted to wipe out everything and rebuild the machine. So I did format the hard drive and installed fresh copy pof windows XP. But now before it customise the windows completely it gives BSOD and automatecally restarts. I tried to reinstall but same results. looks like default option in My Computer -> Startup and Recovery -> System Failure -> Automatecally restart is checked. Now I do not know how to resolve.
    Does anyone has any idea?
    Thanks a lot guys

Uncheck automatically restart... maybe your memory is failing. Go into the bios and reset failsafe defaults

Yes you have a part failing in your computer. You'll need to test both your memory and your hard drive for errors.

Memtest+ will allow you to test your memory.

You can check your hard drive with the Windows Recovery Console hopefully located on your install disk.

If they both come up clean then it's probably time for a new laptop.

Thanks a lot guys, it helped me to narrow down the scope. Used dell diagnostic utility, it was Hard Drive. used seatools to repair the 93 blocks and reinstalled the OS. Everything is working fine.
    Thanks a lot
