Ok me and my boyfriend are trying to fix his brother in-laws computer and everytime we think we get passed something, something else happenes.
First,
We had a desktop background that said "Warning: Spyware threat has been detected on you PC."
We managed to get rid of that, then the task manager stopped working but, we got that re enabled.
Now,
We are trying to run Super AnitSpyware and it's getting to a certain file and restarting the computer. We THINK it has something to do with a Vundo virus but we aren't positive. We don't have HiJack This or anything other than Avast, Super AntiSpyware and McAfee. The problem is everytime we go to open our web browser the whole system locks up and we have to restart it. The only way to get any new programs on that computer is through a network from this computer but we can't get the network to work right now either and I rather not connect to the network because of the virus.
Anyone have any suggestions?
The only way to post a copy of the Super AntiSpyware log is to type up the whole thing but the only file it's listing is Vundo-Variant/F that's associated with the RQRICDAR.DLL file. We aren't sure if that's the file that's making the computer restart or not but that's the only file listed in the Log.
