Well my pc monitor is a fairly standard 19" widescreen with max res of 1440 x 900 so thats what i game at.
But having read elsewhere it seems that even though the hdtv has effectively a lower resolution it looks better because its bigger.
I don't know something like that.

Yea i can digg it. Seems like that yo jst need a HD Flat panel LCD TV for your PC resolution to look as crisp as your HDTV's. Just because you have a LCD with a "higher resolution" than your Tv doesnt mean its going to look better.

I beat it last night. I guess it was enjoyable, but I didn't think it was near as fun as 'most' of Crysis.

The realism (colors) of the graphics are something I wish Crysis would have done. Crysis just didn't look natural like CoD4 did. I understand there is an unofficial addon for Crysis to make the colors and sunlight more real but I haven't added it.

Gameplay was a lot more limited in CoD4. You had to walk in certain areas and progress in specific ways, for example, you couldn't jump onto and walk over a car to get around something, you had to go into a building and out the back door, then around the side of the building just to get where you could have if you'd been able to climb over the car. I can understand that a little bit because you are supposed to be with your group of guys, but I think if you wanted to climb over that car and then face a bunch of bad guys on your own you should be able to do that.

I got a gripe, what's with horrible spawn you get sometimes. It's like being born for the first time but rather then the doctor spanking you he takes you out with an MP5!

I personally didn't like Crysis. At med settings, it looked the same as COD4 with 40fps less.

Heres a video i made on Crysis. I tried pushing my 3 years old PC to it limited by turning up all the setting in graphic to "high" and heres the result : D

side note: i went and try out the "very high hack", but for some reason it crash the game : l

COD4 and my favorite game(Bioshock)are both better games than Crysis overall IMO. Crysis is deffinately a "looker" and there are some truly excellent gameplay mechanics, but as a whole the game is only very good as opposed to great IMO.

    Some comments...
Game being linear- well most games've been like that until now so yes I guess it differs in comparison to other open-ended games

How if you replay a checkpoint...- yes I agree it's quite silly since you can plan your attack, it'd be more challenging to randomize their actions everytime you respawn

The part where your aircraft goes down..-personally I think this was one of the better parts of the game, Call of Duty 4 tended to appeal more to the emotional side, what with this part and the ending, both involving your comrades. It does go to show that war isn't any shooting frenzy...but something that gets pretty much everyone killed.

How hard it is on max difficulty- Partially agreed...it's not so bad if you pop the shot on the enemy first but once you get shot the screen keeps jerking up and down it's nigh impossible to return fire accurately. Plus, your health drops like a bomb.

auto-aiming unmanned machine guns- I never noticed that until I watched your video...I have to say I agree with you and am rather disappointed that IW would rather do that than chuck some terrorists there for us.

Yeah well I just want to stick by the point where CoD4 tended to lean towards the emotional side of gamers and tried to deliver a great gameplay experience at the same time. Imo I think they've succeeded pretty well

Single-player is usually fine, but it ends up coming off as cheap too often, such as enemies standing in blind spots who kill you in one melee attack. I think CoD2 had a better campaign. CoD4's higher difficulties are a joke, pretty much just showing off everything wrong with higher difficulties in shooters. Any old submachine gun being used by the enemy instantly becomes a sniper rifle, bullets cause your view to randomly jerk upwards and your health pretty much instantly goes to "almost dead" with one hit, making it impossible to fight back or even find something to hide behind.

The problem with the multiplayer is that some parts just step on what CoD is supposed to be. Hardcore, is this a joke? Did they think people would actually be more cautious? If one tiny bit of shrapnel hits you, you're dead. If somebody shoots you in the leg 3 times, you're dead. Then you can just put on the *****ic perk that completely defies one of the most basic and integral aspects of CoD (aiming with the sight), Steady Aim, and suddenly Hardcore is just an easy way to get the kill awards for your submachine guns and assault rifles. The rest of the multiplayer, the courses tend to be too cramped, making it far too easy to just toss a grenade over a wall and get 3 kills. Martyrdom is *****ic, it doesn't make sense in any game and doesn't even require you to have a spare grenade. P90 has almost no recoil at all and has a huge clip. Obvious flaws such as the LMGs' horrible accuracy fired from the hip and long reload are almost completely negated by perks like Sleight of Hand and Steady Aim. It has the basic stuff down, but once the cool bonus stuff like customizing abilities comes in, it just detracts from the experience.
