no ... skip going through the computer get a HDMI to DVI or something.
agreed.. go directly to the monitor using the VGA out (or whatever you use on the back of your X360) rather than the PC.

If you still want to go through the PC, you will need a capture card, or a piece of hardware that will take video in. But do note that you may experience a slight lag when playing..

yea was going to by a vga adapter for the 360 rite but my nvida 8800 gtx has 2 dvi dockets and a tv out socket so is there no way i can get my 360 on my monitor through pc without buy thr vga with tht stuf i have there o and i alo have an hd dvi socket tht i can pplugg into my graphics card second dvi port but i cant seem to get the displasy of the 360 wats up?

It is only output, I have the X360 VGA cable, it looks amaizing at 1280x1024 even though my monitor is 1680x1050.

Sorry to drag this topic back up again

On the same subject, i just bought a 8800 gts and with it came a came that goes into the S-Video port at the back of the Card and comes out with three of the HD av plugs. Dark Green, Dark Blue and Red. I thought this was strange as i didnt think i could use the 8800 as a input and thought it was output only.

I was just wondering could i use this cable at all to connect my 360 up to my 8800 gts.

Hes what the cable looks like.

and the S - Video port in 8800 has 7 - pins if that help :)

thanks

^^ You wont know till you try, but i dont think they support VIVO, but if you do try it wont hurt anything. They make a 360 VGA cable that goes right into ur monitor thats what i have.

I'm pretty sure those are also output component cables, to hook up your pc to an hd tv

Honestly the absolute best picture quality (IMO) is still a just a good CRT. Of course it is large and uses more energy than LCD, but in terms of color clarity and depth it has not been matched with other technologies. Although over time the phosphers in CRT break down so color worsens. It should also be noted for heavy users that CRT causes more eye fatigue. But hey, when you can get a new CRT for around 100 bucks, it seems to me like a fine (and cheaper way) to play 360 games in HD. (although I also think they still look great in high end SDs)
