Can I use a 3.0 Gb/s HDD on a PTGD1-LA mobo?

I have a Compaq with a PTGD1-LA mobo and in the manual it says it takes a 1.5Gb/s sata but I want to know if I can put a 3.0Gb/s HDD in instead.

There aren't as many choices for the 1.5Gb/s hard drives, none on Newegg, and there are tons of 3.0Gb/s.

Yes, the drive will run fine at the motherbhoards speed (1.5Gb/s)...
