  1. Hi, I am working on a computer for a coworker that is loaded up with viruses on a windows xp home editon machine. I have run symantec antivirus and removed all viruses it could find as well as malware. I also ran sdfix. Something is disabling all of the services on the machine which is preventing me from getting updates or installing programs. I managed to get hjt installed and malware before all of the services started to disable.

    Here is the hjt log

Safe Mode with networking may give you access to the Internet. Many services & startup applications are not executed.

Scan with HJT. Tick & Fix the following. Restart the computer.
    • F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\System32\userinit.exe
    • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [braviax] braviax.exe
    • O23 - Service: Application Management AppMgmtNtmsSvc (AppMgmtNtmsSvc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\1041h.exe

O23 item in the list is not listed among the tools I use. Tick/fix just turns off the automatic start for this service.
