Hello:

I am having a problem with my Dell pc running winXP. When I am in internet explorer looking at a website and I go to download something or save an attachment from an email I get the message "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded". Also on some sites if I click on the links it won't open that link and the blue task bar fades to the lighter inactive blue. I have tried resetting the security on my Internet explorer to Medium but that did not change anything. I am running AVG free and my Windows firewall is active.

Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Nickie

1. In the browser's Tools menu, select Internet Options.

2. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab.

3. In the "Select a Web content zone" control, click the Internet icon.

4. In the "Security level for this zone" area, reset security to Medium.

5. Click OK.

See if that helps.

I`d like to have a quick check for malware.

Go and read this thread HERE and post a HJT log as an attachment into this thread.
