Cannot install Updates

Windows XP cannot install updates.

It gains access to the internet and downloads the files. But when it comes to installing the files it fails. It has been doing this for some time now

Do you actually have Office installed,?

You can check your update history at the update site . Any updates that did not install will have an error number and help files to check. Just follow the directions for whatever relates to your machine.
