Cannot open My Computer or Any Folders

I cannot open any folders on my desktop nor
can I open my computer, the control panel or search.

No message pops up, a small egg timer spins round once next to my mouse but nothing happens.

the programmes work and so does the internet and msn messenger.

I havent installed anything recently in terms of hardware or software (minus ad-aware,spybot,spyware,avg free,hijack this)

I have tried to system restore but that wont work. and shutting it down and starting again doesnt do anything.

you have norton AV and AVG antivirus running simulatenously?

That may be your problem!

the ''dit.exe'' entry also looks suspicious...

the dit.exe is for the multi card reader im my pc

and i removed AVG Free but still the problem persists

boot computer in safe mode.
run spybot search and destroy and your anti-virus.
report what happens

ok i started in safe mode and was able to run search and destroy and nothing was found.

i then tried to start norton anti virus in safe mode but it would not start at all.

any suggestions?

btw anti virus found datkbdno.dll during its weekly search and deleted it whilst i was out.

however the problem still remains

what was the LAST thing you did before stuff stopped working.....
