A few hours ago I had trouble with my computer constantly crashing every few minutes I enter desktop. So i tried reformatting but that just led to worst errors as the computer constantly brings up a blue physical memory dump screen before the installation could finish. Now I just tried using the XP cd on a seperate computer and it works just fine.

My old Xp is deleted but the new one would not install. Also my keyboard seems to shut off frequently whenever I enter the XP set up screen.

any help on this would be nice

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Please would you enter your system specs into your user profile at the top of any page(click on edit profile).

First open up the case and disconnect or remove anything not needed to boot Windows, and clean out any dust bunnies. Also use a cd cleaning disk to clean the lense of you cd-rom.

I.E just leave the hdd/ram/videocard/cpu. Also check the ide cables, and make sure all components are seated properly.

If that doesn`t work, download and run Memtest86+ from www.memtest.org

Let it run for at least seven passes. This will tell you if you have a ram problem.
